Batdorf and Bronson Coffee Roasters represents a critical element of the Port's strategic plan with bustling, light industrial activity amidst a vibrant, commercial center. Offering public coffee tasting and private tours, the coffee roaster has become a tourist destination as well as growing supplier of coffee to local and national markets. ~Courtesy of Port of Olympia and Barbara Cain.

With the addition of Market Place, a 4-story, class "A" office building, and Anthony's Homeport restaurant, the Market District emerged as an Olympia "destination" in 1998. Market Street was also constructed to link the east and west neighborhoods of the Port Peninsula. ~Courtesy of Port of Olympia and Barbara Cain.

The Port of Olympia is proud to be home to the Farmers Market since 1996, the second largest open market in Washington. Relocating the Farmers Market was the first project in the Port's Market District and provides economic opportunities to over 50 Thurston County vendors each season. ~Courtesy of Port of Olympia and Barbara Cain.

The Swantown Boatworks serves as an economic catalyst for continued development of the Swantown commercial area. In partnership with a private developer, Simon Johnson LLC, the first of several buildings is under construction and will house marine-related services and vessel storage. ~Courtesy of Port of Olympia and Barbara Cain.

Serving boaters since 1983, Swantown Marina maintains both permanent and guest moorage in a park-like setting. The Port operates the full-service marina and is planning an expansion. New development includes a marina village and building slips to accommodate larger boats at D, E, and F docks. ~Courtesy of Port of Olympia and Barbara Cain.

Come Grow With Us!
The Port Plaza was created in 1997 with the relocation of the viewing tower, the addition of an entertainment stage and guest moorage facilities. The vision of this waterfront park is to create a community gathering place in the vibrant, commercial Market District.
From the commercial center at New Market Industrial Campus to the diversified marine terminal, from the busy Swantown Marina and Boatworks to the strategically located Olympia Regional Airport, the Port of Olympia is committed to serving the needs of its global customers and fostering economic growth of the South Puget Sound region.
The Swantown properties, located in downtown Olympia's colorful waterfront district, are home to many local light industrial, marine oriented, commercial and retail businesses. A host of growth opportunities will emerge over the next decade.
There will be more waterfront access: The clean-up of the Cascade Pole site will extend the East Bay waterfront promenade while the Port's properties on West Bay may provide the waterfront trail connection to proposed commercial development there.
With the development at Market District at Swantown nearly completed, the next phase of waterfront development on the Port Peninsula is NorthPoint, a marine-oriented, commercial neighborhood at the northern tip of the Port Peninsula. And, Port properties along State Street, which offer views of waterfront and Olympics, may become home to commercial development in the coming years.
