WASHINGTON
Crystal Mountain
- Location: 84 miles from Olympia off state Route 410 just outside the northeast corner of Mount Rainier National Park.
- Size: 2,300 acres, including 1,000 acres of backcountry.
- Terrain: 7,002-foot top elevation, 3,100-foot vertical drop.
- Lifts: 10, including two high-speed six-person lifts, two high speed quads, two triples, three doubles and a surface lift. Serves 50 runs.
- Nights: 4 to 8 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (mid-December to mid-March.)
- Cost: $43 adult all-day; $38 ages 11 to 17 all-day; $12 seniors all-day. Under 10 free with paid adult.
- Season: Mid-November to mid-April.

Stevens Pass
- Location: Summit of Stevens Pass on U.S. Highway 2, 78 miles northeast of Seattle.
- Size: 1,125 acres.
- Terrain: 5,700-foot top elevation, 1,800-foot vertical drop.
- Lifts: 10, serving 37 major runs.
- Cross-country: 25 kilometers of groomed trails.
- Nights: Until 10 p.m. through mid-March.
- Cost: $43 adults all-day; $27 ages 7 to 12 all-day; $30 ages 62 to 69 all-day; $5 ages 6 and under and 70 and over all-day.
- Season: Late November to mid-April.

Summit at Snoqualmie
- Location: 45 miles east of Seattle off Interstate 90.
- Size: 2,016 acres at four diverse and separate areas.
- Terrain: Alpental at the Summit, 5,400-foot top elevation, 2,200-foot vertical drop; Summit Central, 3,900-foot top elevation, 1,040-foot vertical drop; Summit West, 3,900-foot top elevation, 900-foot vertical drop; Summit East, 3,700-foot top elevation, 1,100-foot vertical drop.
- Lifts: 20 chairs, two Magic Carpets and two rope tows, serving 85 major runs.
- Cross-country: 50 kilometers of groomed trails.
- Nights: 4 to 10 p.m. Mondays to Saturdays. Resort closes at 5 p.m. on Sundays.

- Location: About 90 miles from Olympia off U.S. Highway 12, southeast of Mount Rainier National Park.
- Size: 235 acres.
- Terrain: 6,000-foot top elevation, 1,500-foot vertical drop.
- Lifts: Six lifts, serving 14 runs.
- What's new: Wonder carpet, a device for moving beginners up short hills.
- Cross-country: 18 kilometers of groomed track.
- Nights: Lasts for a month, starting around Christmas.
- Cost: $34 adult weekends and holidays; $22 ages 7 to 12 and 65 to 72 weekends and holidays.
- Season: Mid-November to late May.

Hurricane Ridge
- Location: 18 miles south of Port Angeles in Olympic National Park. Open on weekends and holidays.
- Size: About 25 acres.
- Terrain: 5,400-foot top elevation, 625-foot vertical drop.
- Lifts: Two rope tows and the poma lift.
- Cross-country: Readily available in the national park.
- Cost: Park entry fee; $6, bunny tow for non-ski-club members; $18 poma lift for nonmembers.
- Season: Mid-December through spring.

Mission Ridge
- Location: 12 miles from Wenatchee up Squilchuck Road.
- Size: 2,000 acres.
- Terrain: 6,770-foot top elevation, 2,200-foot vertical drop.
- Lifts: Four chairs and two rope tows, serving 35 major runs.
- Cross-country: Squilchuck Sno-Park is four miles away, at the end of Squilchuck Road.
- Cost: $37 adult weekends all-day; $22 ages 7 to 17 and 62 to 69 weekends all-day; $15 ages 70 and older weekends and weekdays all-day.
- Season: Early December to early-April.

Mount Baker
- Location: 56 miles east of Bellingham off state Route 542.
- Size: 1,000 acres.
- Terrain: 5,050-foot top elevation, 1,500-foot vertical drop.
- Lifts: Eight, serving 38 major runs and two rope tows.
- What's new: Best for beginners program, includes lift ticket, lesson and equipment rental. A third quad chair has replaced one of the doubles.
- Cross-country: 4 kilometers, plus backcountry trails.
- Cost: $34 adult weekends and holidays; $26 ages 7 to 15 and 60 to 69 weekends and holidays; $23 Monday through Wednesday; $25 Thursday and Friday.
- Season: November through April.

North Cascade Heli Skiing
- Location: Freestone Inn in Mazama in the Methow Valley on state Route 20, 15 miles northwest of Winthrop.
- Size: Access to 300,000 acres in the Okanogan National Forest.
- Terrain: 1,500 to 4,000 feet.
- Lifts: Helicopters, serving wide-open backcountry terrain.
- Cross-country: Available.
- Cost: $625 per person a day; $2,220 per person for a three-day package. Additional packages available.

- Location: Situated in the Blue Mountains, about 22 miles south of Dayton off U.S. Highway 12.
- Size: 530 acres.
- Terrain: 5,670-foot top elevation, 1,125-foot vertical drop.
- Lifts: Three, serving 24 major runs.
- Cross-country: None.
- Cost: $29 adult all-day; $25 student all-day; $22 grades 1 through 8 and ages 65 and older.
- Season: Mid-November to early-April.

49 Degrees North
- Location: 42 miles north of Spokane off U.S. Highway 395.
- Size: 780 acres.
- Terrain: 5,773-foot top elevation, 1,845-foot vertical drop.
- Lifts: Four doubles (new surface lift for beginners), serving 23 major runs.
- Cross-country: 10 kilometers.
- Nights: Off and on throughout the season.
- Cost: $32 adult weekends and holidays; $25 ages 65 and older weekends and holidays; $24 ages 7 to 15 weekends and holidays. These are the most recently available prices.

- Location: Off state Route 20 between Okanogan and Twisp.

- Terrain: 1,240 feet.

- Cross-country: 25 kilometers of groomed trails, five minutes from 30 more kilometers.

- Location: About 17 miles northeast of Tonasket off U.S. Highway 97.
- Size: 80 acres.
- Terrain: 4,950-foot top elevation, 650-foot vertical drop.
- Lifts: Double chairlift and rope tow, serving 19 runs.
- Cost: $20 adult weekends; $17 ages 7 to 12 and 65 to 74; Kids 6 and under and 75 and older are free.
- Cross-country: 22 kilometers of trails.

Cascade Powder Cats
- Location: Backcountry skiing in the greater Stampede Pass area, about 10 miles east of Snoqualmie Pass.
- Size: 12,000 acres.
- Terrain: 10,000 vertical feet of drop during 6 to 15 runs a day.
- Lifts: Access via snowcats.
- Cost: $210 per person. Group rates available.
- Season: December through April 10.

Mount Bachelor

- Cross-country: 56 kilometers of track.

Hoodoo Ski Area
- Location: At the summit of Santiam Pass, 42 miles west of Bend and 82 miles southeast of Salem via U.S. Highway 20.
- Size: 806 acres.
- Terrain: 5,703-foot top elevation, 1,035-foot vertical drop.
- Lifts: Five, serving 32 runs. Closed Wednesdays.
- Cross-country: 16 kilometers.
- Nights: Until 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, starting Dec. 21.
- Cost: $30 adult weekends all-day; $23 seniors and juniors weekends all-day.

- Location: 70 miles southeast of Eugene at Milepost 62 off state Route 58.
- Size: 550 acres.
- Terrain: 6,683-foot top elevation, 1,563-foot vertical drop.
- Lifts: Seven, five chair lifts, two surface, serving 29 runs. Also a tubing hill.
- Cross-country: Full Nordic center, with 20 kilometers.
- Nights: Until 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

- Cross-country: 15 kilometers groomed.
- Nights: Until 10 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays only.

Timberline Ski Area
- Location: 60 miles east of Portland and six miles north of Government Camp off U.S. Highway 26.
- Size: 1,000 acres.
- Terrain: 8,540-foot top elevation, 3,590-foot vertical drop.
- Lifts: Six, including four high-speed quads, serving 32 runs.
- Cross-country: None, though telemark skiing is OK on downhill trails.
- Nights: Fridays and Saturdays starting around Christmas.
- What's new: Two high-speed quads replace the Blossom and Victoria Station chairlifts, which are now known as Blossom Express and Molly's Express.
- Cost: $38 all-day adults; $22 ages 7 to 12; $17 all-day beginner chair.
- Season: October through September.

Cooper Spur
- Location: 26 miles south of Hood River and 25 miles around the mountain from Government Camp, off state Route 35.
- Size: 100 developed acres.
- Terrain: 4,500-foot top elevation, 500-foot vertical drop.
- Lifts: Two surface tows, serving 10 runs. Snowshoeing and tubing.
- Cross-country: 10 kilometers as well as the Mount Hood National Forest's Tilly Jane trail system, which begins nearby.
- Nights: Until 9 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays.
- Cost: $15 adults weekends all-day; $10 for juniors and seniors weekends all-day.

Mt. Hood Skibowl
- Location: 53 miles east of Portland off U.S. Highway 26.
- Size: 960 acres.
- Terrain: 5,056-foot top elevation, 1,500-foot vertical drop.
- Lifts: Four double chairlifts, five surface, serving 65 runs. Inner tube hill with tow.
- Cross-country: Nearby. Trillium Lake, 2 miles east of Government Camp and White River, east of U.S. Highway 26 and state Route 35 junction.
- Nights: Open until 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, until 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
- Cost: $31 adult weekends; $25 adult midweek; $18 adult nights; $18 ages 12 and under and 65 and older weekends all-day. These are the most recent available prices.

Summit Ski Area
- Location: On Mount Hood, 54 miles southeast of Portland off U.S. Highway 26 at the east end of Government Camp.
- Size: 100 acres.
- Terrain: 4,306-foot top elevation, 400-foot vertical drop.
- Lifts: One double chairlift, one rope tow. Skiing available only on weekends and holidays. Tubing hill open daily.
- Cross-country: 14 kilometer groomed trail on weekends.
- Cost: $20 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; $13 from 1 to 4 p.m.
- Season: Mid-November to May.
- Lodging: Same as Mount Hood Ski Bowl.

Ferguson Ridge
- Location: 10 miles southeast of state Route 82 in Joseph.
- Size: 150 acres.
- Terrain: 5,740-foot top elevation, 640-foot vertical.
- Lifts: One T-bar and one rope tow, serving five main runs and more than 15 other small runs. Open on weekends and holidays only.
- Cross-country: 13 kilometers at Salt Creek Summit Sno-Park.
- Cost: $10 adults, $7 ages 12 and under.
- Season: Mid-December to mid-March

Anthony Lakes
- Location: 19 miles west of Interstate 84 off the North Powder exit.
- Size: 300 acres.

- Cross-country: 13 kilometers of groomed trails.
- What's new: Snowcat backcountry skiing.

Mount Bailey Snowcats
- Location: 79 miles east of Roseburg, 85 miles northeast of Medford via state Routes 62, 230 and 138.
- Size: 6,000 acres.
- Terrain: 8,363-foot top elevation, 3,000-foot vertical drop.
- Lifts: Backcountry skiing via snowcat in the Umpqua National Forest.
- Cost: $200 per person; 12 people for $2,040. Early and late-season discounts. These are the most recently available prices.
- Season: Early December to June.

Ski Ashland
- Location: Just south of Ashland, eight miles off Interstate 5.

- Nights: Until 9 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays

Whistler-Blackcomb, British Columbia
- Location: 75 miles north of Vancouver via provincial Route 99 or B.C. Rail.
- Size: 7,071 total acres.
- Terrain: Blackcomb, 7,494-foot top elevation, 5,280-foot vertical drop. Whistler, 7,160-foot top elevation, 5,020-foot vertical drop.
- Lifts: 33 for both mountains, with 15 high-speed lifts, serving 200 major trails, including 12 massive alpine bowls.
- Cross-country: 23 kilometers.
- Nights: Weekends on Blackcomb, more during the holidays.
