The Seahawks estimate that there are 5,000 tickets remaining for Saturday's 1:30 p.m. contest against the St. louis Rams. Seattle has sold more than 61,000 tickets since Sunday, but the TV blackout still looms.
The game must sell out by 1:30 p.m. today for it to be televised in Western Washington.
The NFL gave the Seahawks the extension because the game is being played on a Saturday, rather than a Sunday, and there has been a short time between the end of the regular season last Sunday and the start of the playoffs.
The Seahawks didn't earn a home playoff game until late Sunday afternoon, when they stopped a two-point conversion attempt as time expired to beat the Atlanta Falcons 28-26 and clinch the NFC West division title. If Seattle had lost that game, the Seahawks would have had to play at St. Louis this weekend.
Tickets to Saturday's game in Seattle are available at any Ticketmaster outlet, online at www.seahawks.com or at the 1/2 est Field box office.
