Lorrine Thompson has worked at The Olympian since 1991. She has reported on various news and feature topics including the city of Lacey, the military, Yelm, transportation, family issues, seniors, health care and Thurston County.

Since 1991, she has received five awards from the Society of Professional Journalists, three Best of Gannett year-end awards and a Blethen award for distinguished deadline reporting, among other awards.

A native Washingtonian, Thompson graduated from Washington State University. She has lived in Thurston County for more than 12 years. Her three children attend North Thurston School District schools.
