have a star-studded, veteran crew looking for yet another
title. New York's stars include starting pitchers Roger Clemens
and Mike Mussina, shortstop Derek Jeter, first baseman and
former Seattle Mariner Tino Martinez, outfielders Bernie Williams
and Paul O'Neill and relief ace Mariano Rivera. After falling
behind Oakland in the division series, the Yankees showed
their mettle by winning three straight games.
