Wilderness camps along the Elwha River trail have reopened, Olympic National Park officials said.
The area along 6.8 miles of the Elwha Trail had been closed so travelers would not come in contact with foraging bears.
Campers must hang food from available bear wires or use bear-proof food containers on 16.8 miles of trail from Whiskey Bend and Hayes River. Food containers are available for loan at the park Wilderness Information Center and the Elwha Ranger Station for a $3 donation.
Hikers are urged to report bear sightings.
