FISHING NOTES

Capital City Bass Club members make state team

OLYMPIA -- A pair of Capital City Bass Club members, Trent Menees and John Semken, have made the Washington State BASS Federation Team for 2002.

Selections for the team are based on points gained through a three-tournament series at Tri-Cities Columbia River, Lake Washington and Banks Lake in Eastern Washington.

The next stop for the Washington team is the Western Regional Tournament on the California Delta next May.

- TOP FINSIHERS: At the American Bass 2001 Northwest Team Classic on the Columbia River, the top finishers from the Capital City Bass Club were the father-and-son team of Bruce and Dave Brummond.

They took 12th place with 12.83 pounds. Ron Knackstedt and Jack Ross were 15th with 11.96 pounds.

At the Nixon Marine Northwest Bass 2001 Challenge on Banks Lake, Jason Allred and Brian Griffin finished fourth with 24.6 pounds of bass. Trent Menees and Wes Wezenburg were 13th with 22.4 pounds.
