The Mount Rainier National Park has reopened the Comet Falls Trail.
The trail was closed following debris flows in August on the mountain's south flank.
Hikers on the trail are cautioned to be aware of debris on the trail and unstable stream banks.
Several bridges were washed out and the trail remains closed between Comet Falls and Van Trump Park.
Park visitors also are warned that when it is raining they should watch for rising stream levels, and -- for safety from debris flows -- to head rapidly uphill if they hear loud rumbling noises from upstream.
