Book brief -- "Cat Attacks"

Originally published July 24, 2001

BOOK REVIEW

We do not exist outside the food chain. Sometimes we are prey, and the cougar is predator.

Fortunately, not very often, but as cougar populations are pressured by the spread of humans, it happens.

Jo Deurbrouck and Dean Miller focus on the true stories and hard lessons from cougar country in "Cat Attacks" ($16.95, Sasquatch), which if it disturbs your comfort zone will at least up your awareness level.

And it will leave open the debate of how to co-exist with cougars.
