BUILDING B-29 BOMBERS
'Four years writing to my husband'
Marjorie Street
I worked at Boeing in the engineering department when they were building B-29s.
I never missed a week in four years writing to my husband , who was in the Army in the South Pacific. He landed in Leyte in the Philippines with Gen. Douglas MacArthur. I volunteered at the USO, sewing insignias on soldiers' uniforms. There was a group of army wives who did this.
