Gail Wood has been a sports reporter at The Olympian for 13 years.

The native of South Sound grew up in Tacoma, graduated from Wilson High School in 1972 and attended the University of Puget Sound, where he played football for the Loggers and graduated in 1977.

Wood's journalism career has included stops in Oregon, Idaho and Washington. He and his wife, Mary, have three teenage boys. The Woods reside in Lacey.
