PET OF THE WEEK

Originally published Monday, March 25, 2002

Easter Sweetie

On Feb. 27, a thoughtful citizen brought me to the animal shelter. If you are looking for a mixed-breed cat, please adopt me. I am wearing tag No. 471 and answer to both Kitty and Darby. I was found on Meridian Road and brought here to the animal shelter.

If you are looking for a male cat with a soft and fuzzy body, eyes that are gold, four soft and gentle milky white paws, and brownish-midnight black-colored fur, you will enjoy me. At the beginning of my body you will find two tall pointed ears. If you go to the end of my body you will see my midnight long fluffy tail.

When Aly and Amber let me out of my crate, I was gentle because I didn't use my claws. When I was let go, I was curious about everything around me. When you play games with me I enjoy winning because I am independent.

If you are family in need of an Easter cat, please adopt me, Darby. I wear tag No. 471 and am living at the animal shelter. Hopefully, I won't be staying here for long.

Amber Miller Aly Swanson

Pet of the week is written by fourth-grade students from Janet Schloz's class at Tumwater Hill Elementary School. The students visit the Thurston County Animal Shelter at 3120 Martin Way in Olympia, 360-352-2510, each week.
