WHERE WE ARE

The Park of the Seven Oars at the corner of Olympic Way and West Bay Drive will be removed by the end of December. The park is being relocated to make way for the construction of the upper roundabout.

In 2004, a new Park of the Seven Oars will be created across the street along West Bay Drive. The new project will be twice the size and will feature a larger brick plaza, grassy area, additional seating and views of the mountains, Budd Inlet and the Capitol.

WANTED

The name plate of the Fourth Avenue bridge has been missing since the Feb. 28 earthquake. It was securely attached to the old bridge and was unlikely to have fallen during the quake. If found, it will be placed in the new Park of the Seven Oars, as part of the historical record of the bridge. If you have information, call Jay Burney at 360-753-8740 or e-mail jburney@ci.olympia.wa.us.
