Garden pros offer tips on waterwise gardening

Learn how to grow a beautiful garden while protecting and conserving drinking water -- with Olympia's Water Conservation Program series "Waterwise Gardening."

- "Design Your Garden for Year-Round Beauty" -- Wednesday. Mary Robson, a horticulturist with the King/Pierce County Washington State University Cooperative Extension, will talk about the most successful plants for waterwise gardening in all seasons.

- "The Lazy Gardener" -- March 20. Learn how to use less water, spend less money and do less work and still have a beautiful garden with Marianne Binetti, a gardening author and columnist.

- "Ciscoe's Secrets for Gardening Success" -- March 26. Seattle University horticulturist Ciscoe Morris will offer his waterwise gardening tips as well as a question-and-answer session.

Register for the classes -- which cost $5 each and run from 7 to 9 p.m. -- by calling 360-753-8380.

Learn how to make your yard an award winner.

Join Tumwater Parks and Recreation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday for a class on landscaping your yard.
