Each year, approximately 280 young people ages 14 to 16 participate in the page program. A page school allows students to keep up their school work while learning about the Legislature. In addition, pages provide invaluable assistance to legislators by delivering messages to the floor of the House and Senate, and carrying documents to various locations on the Capitol Campus.

Kelly Smith recently served as a page for one week. She was sponsored by Rep. Sam Hunt, D-Olympia. Smith is in the eighth grade at Chinook Middle School. She is the daughter of Roma and Ed Smith of Olympia.

Ateline Thronson recently served as a page for one week. Thronson, 15, was sponsored by Sen. Dan Swecker, R-Rochester. Thronson is the daughter of Stuart and Patricia Thronson of Olympia. She is home-schooled and enjoys playing the violin and swimming.

Jamie Kermode recently served as a page for one week. She was sponsored by Sen. Tim Sheldon, D-Potlatch. Kermode, 16, is in the 10th grade at Black Hills High School. She is the daughter of Danny and Aileen Kermode and is a member of the National Honor Society and the swim team. She is a volunteer at the public library and enjoys playing the guitar.

Rachael O'Flaherty recently served as a page for one week. She was sponsored by Sen. Karen Fraser, D-Thurston County. O'Flaherty, 14, is in the eighth grade at Thurgood Marshall Middle School. She is the daughter of Robyn and Dan O'Flaherty. She is interested in law, journalism, writing, reporting and research.

Christopher Keegan recently served as a page for one week. He was sponsored by Sen. Karen Fraser, D-Thurston County. Keegan, 14, is in the eighth grade at St. Michael Elementary School. He is the son of Chris and Denise Keegan. Keegan is a patrol leader in the Boy Scouts; he enjoys track, basketball, camping, fishing, biking, card games, church, and he collects nutcrackers.

Andrea Diloreti recently served as a page for one week. She was sponsored by Sen. Karen Fraser, D-Thurston County. Diloreti, 14, is in the eighth grade at Chinook Middle School. She is the daughter of Joseph and Doungmanee Diloreti. Diloreti enjoys swimming, basketball, skiing, volleyball, dancing and drama.

Miguel Pineda recently served as a page for one week. He was sponsored by Rep. Sandra Romero. Pineda, 15, attends Tumwater High School. He is the son of Juan and Maria Pineda.
