Each year approximately 280 young people between the ages of 14 and 16 participate in the page program. A page school allows students to keep up their school work while learning about the Legislature. In addition, pages provide invaluable assistance to legislators by delivering messages to the floor of the House and Senate, and carrying documents to various locations on the Capitol Campus.
Reid Petersen recently served as a page for one week. He was sponsored by Sen. Margarita Prentice, D-Renton. Petersen, 14, is in the eighth grade at St. Michael Elementary School. He is the son of Dana and Patricia Petersen of Olympia. He enjoys government, math, science, football, basketball, track, music and church.
Joseph Silverman recently served as a page for one week. He was sponsored by Rep. Sandra Romero, D-Olympia. Silverman, 14, attends Washington Middle School. He is the son of Courtney Nevitt and Brice Silverman.
Monty Norris served as a page for one week. He was sponsored by Sen. Dan Swecker, R-Rochester. Norris, 16, is a student at W.F. Black Hills High School in Chehalis. He is the son of Mary Norris and enjoys most sports, various school activities and church events.
Gabriel Molinaro recently served as a page for one week. He was sponsored by Sen. Karen Fraser, D-Thurston County. Molinaro, 14, is in the ninth grade at Northwest Christian High School. He is the son of David and Joyce Molinaro of Lacey. He enjoys basketball, piano, drama and church youth group.
Joel Lambert recently served as a page for one week. He was sponsored by Sen. Karen Fraser, D-Thurston County. Lambert, 14, is in the ninth grade at River Ridge High School. He is the son of Bob and Bonnie Lambert of Olympia. He enjoys wrestling, golf, baseball, racquetball, antiques, music, electronics, working out and musicals.
Dene Turnbow recently served as a page for one week. She was sponsored by Sen. Sid Snyder, D-Long Beach. Turnbow, 14, is in the ninth grade at River Ridge High School. She is the daughter of Wanda Turnbow and Kyle Winton.
