Indie bands hit stages throughout the Northwest this weekend

A host of bands from Olympia-based record labels are set to perform out-of-town concerts in the coming week.

They include:

- The Olympia-bred trio Sleater-Kinney follow up December's shows in Seattle with an all-ages show at 8 p.m. today at the Crystal Ballroom, 1332 West Burnside, Portland.

Olympia's Tracy + The Plastics will open.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased from Ticketmaster Northwest at 206-628-0888 or www.ticketmaster.com.

- Olympia's K Records will host a showcase featuring three of its acts at 8 p.m. Sunday at I Spy, 1921 Fifth Ave., Seattle.

The all-ages show will include performances by Dub Narcotic Sound System, the Microphones and Yume Bitsu.

Hot Hot Heat, a band from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, also will perform.

- Kill Rock Stars' duo C Average will play at 9 p.m. Jan. 18 at Sit & Spin, 2219 Fourth Ave., Seattle.

Biography of Ferns and Bronze will open for the show, which is restricted to those 21 and up.

- Meanwhile, here in Olympia, Le Voyeur Cafe and Bar has two upcoming concerts of note.

The aforementioned Hot Hot Heat will play with Destro at 9:30 p.m. today.

Oakland's Fleshies (who record for Alternative Tentacles Records) will perform at 9 p.m. Tuesday. Federation X and the Cheeps will open.
