THE OLYMPIAN
Originally published Friday, February 1, 2002
The internationally recognized Olympia music group Obrador will perform this weekend at The GO Club.
Obrador blends rhythm and blues with Afro-Cuban styles of music. The group is part of a cross-cultural education program in local middle schools and a humanitarian gift-giving program in a children's music school in Guanabacoa, Cuba. Sales of the band's CD "Obrador Live in Havana" go to help these programs.
The concert is at 9:30 p.m. Feb. 2 at the club, 311 Fourth Ave. E. in downtown Olympia. Doors open at 8 p.m., and admission is $7.
