State seeks comment on Capitol Forest
OLYMPIA -- Anyone with ideas and concerns about public uses in the Capitol State Forest may speak out at a public meeting this week.
The meeting will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the General Administration Building on the Capitol Campus.
The Washington Department of Natural Resources will use the comments of users, neighbors and interest groups to develop a Public Use Plan.
Officials want to hear from users how best to balance the many public uses, active timber harvest and habitat for native wildlife and fish.

Books
All his life, author Ian Frazier has been casting his line in a variety of waters, from city ponds to trout streams.
In "The Fish's Eye: Essays About Angling and the Outdoors" ($20, Farrar Straus & Giroux), Frazier explores this lifelong passion for fishing, fish and the aquatic world.
His destinations include New York's Grand Central Station, the Yellowstone River, the Ohio River where Cincinnati fishermen catch fish with half a french fry, and the hazards of the Florida Keys.
In 192 pages, he covers the incidentals of angling, the who and the where of it, as much as what he catches and how.
