Spring clam digging seasons set

Five days allowed in March and six in April, pending marine toxin tests

OLYMPIA -- Pending marine toxin test results, clam digging will open for five days next week and again for six days in April.

Digging will be open on evening low tides during the week and during morning tides on the weekend at Long Beach, Twin Harbors, Copalis, Mocrocks and Kalaloch beaches.

Clam diggers must have a valid license, and the limit is the first 15 clams dug.

Wednesday and Thursday, all beaches except Copalis and Kalaloch will be open, afternoon tides only.

Friday all beaches except Kalaloch will be open, afternoon tides only.

Saturday all five beaches will be open, morning tides only.

Sunday only Long Beach and Kalaloch will be open, morning tides only.

Tides:

- Wednesday: Low tide 5:50 p.m., minus 0.6 feet; sunset 6:39 p.m.

- Thursday: Low tide 6:35 p.m., minus 0.5 feet; sunset 6:40 p.m.

- Friday: Low tide 7:18 p.m., minus 0.1 feet; sunset 6:42 p.m.

- Saturday: Low tide 7:50 a.m., minus 0.8 feet; sunrise 5:59 a.m.

- Sunday: Low tide 8:37 a.m., minus 1.0 feet; sunrise 5:57 a.m.

April 12 through April 17, all five razor clam beaches will be open during morning tides only. Digging will close each day at noon. Daylight savings time starts April 7.

- April 12: Low tide 7:32 a.m., 0.6 feet; sunrise 6:34 a.m.

- April 13: Low tide 8:09 a.m. 0.2 feet; sunrise 6:32 a.m.

- April 14: Low tide 8:45 a.m., minus 0.1 feet; sunrise 6:30 a.m.

- April 15: Low tide 9:22 a.m., minus 0.3 feet; sunrise 6:29 a.m.

- April 16: Low tide 9:59 a.m., minus 0.3 feet; sunrise 6:27 a.m.

- April 17: Low tide 10:40 a.m., minus 0.1 feet; sunrise 6:25 a.m.

- Note: Tides are for Point Brown at Ocean Shores.
