Boat show continues

TACOMA -- New boats, a mini-submarine and information seminars are part of the 2002 Tacoma Dome Boat Show that continues this weekend.

The show, featuring the 28-foot Marlin S-101 submarine from U.S. Submarines, runs through Sunday.

More than 500 boats, exhibitors with charter and rental information and the latest in accessories will be available.

Boat and fishing experts will give seminars through the weekend.

Admission is $8 for adults; $4 for juniors, ages 6 to 16. Children under 6 are free with an adult.

Discount coupons are available at all exhibitor locations, www.tacomadomeboatshow.com and all Western Washington Quizno's Classic Subs shops.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

- PARK FEES TO RISE: Fees at campgrounds, trailer dump stations and boat launches will go up on April 15.

The state Parks and Recreation Commission has increased the fees to meet state budget reductions.

Boat launches will cost $5, standard campsites will cost $15 and utility sites $21. Trailer dump fees will go up $2.

The state expects the increases to bring in about $500,000.
