OLYMPIA

Teen-ager injured in one-car wreck

Seventeen-year-old Monique R. Dugaw of Olympia was in serious condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after a one-car crash Sunday.

Dugaw was driving northbound on U.S. Highway 101 when her car left the road and struck a tree. Dugaw was taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia and then transferred to Harborview at 7 a.m. She is being treated for internal injuries and two broken legs.

Her 1993 Honda four-door was destroyed in the accident. Dugaw was alone in the car and was wearing a seatbelt, a police report said.

FORT LEWIS

Army will conduct late-night firing

Fort Lewis will conduct late-night firing from 12:01 a.m. Tuesday to midnight Thursday, base officials reported.

The firings are normally scheduled and required training, allowing soldiers to practice and improve skills required during combat.
