Spiritual Notes
- "Listening to More than Our Words" is the topic of Sunday's sermon by The Rev. Arthur Vaeni at the Olympia Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 2200 East End St. N.W., Olympia. Vaeni will discuss how our ability to communicate serves as the fulcrum that sustains our religious community and relationships. Sunday school and child care are provided at both the 9:15 and 11 a.m. services.
- Geshe Jamyan Tsultrim, a primary teacher and leader of the Nalanda Institute, will begin a series of five talks on the writings of an eighth-century Buddhist scholar at 7 p.m. Feb. 20 at the State Capital Museum Coach House. The writings of Acharya Shantideva's "The Way of the Bodhisattva: A Translation of the Bodhicharyavatara" also will be the backbone of the balance of the two-hour talk series. The four remaining talks will be March 13, April 10, May 8 and June 19. For more information on the lecture series, call 360-786-1309.
