Commission pounced on Eyman

For an agency that constantly whines and complains about shortages of money and staff, the Public Disclosure Commission sure didn't waste any time filing charges against Tim Eyman.

It would sure be nice if they paid as much attention and moved as quickly on complaints filed against liberal causes and candidates.

Eyman's fall prompts reassuring feelings

OK. Let's see, we've got a legislative body running afraid of an anti-everything guy with no integrity.

That gives me a warm fuzzy.

Israeli actions foster hatred

I write regarding the recent demolition of Palestinian homes in the Gaza Strip by Israeli troops.

After learning of these events, I became disgusted by the fact that the Israelis had decided to act in that manner. Using these violent acts might have solved some problems temporarily, but in the long run, the main problem is still at hand.

Nearly 21 homes were bulldozed by the Israeli military in an attempt to protect their soldiers from Palestinian gunmen who were using those houses as hiding places.

It is also believed that these homes are used as an underground tunnel for smuggling arms.

For these reasons, the Israelis had motive for doing what they did.

However, due to their actions, the International Committee of the Red Cross reported that about 93 families were left without homes.

By retaliating against the violent Palestinian acts with ones of their own, the Israelis are not helping to resolve the conflict that exists between them.

They have made themselves the enemy of all those they made homeless.

Perhaps they have forgotten the fact that many of these people are children. Now the children know who the enemy is. They are the same people who destroyed homes.

Eventually, this generation will grow up and the hatred that exists today will continue. It must be stopped now.

The use of violence will never help find a long-term solution.
