Clydii Armstrong

Clydii Armstrong, after a short illness, died at home on February 19, 2002. He was surrounded by his human parents, Dick and Mary Armstrong and his grandmother Janet Mackey. A life long resident of Olympia, little is known of his first year prior to his adopting us in 1987. But from the day he allowed us to live with him, he enjoyed the Cadillac of cat lives.

Clydii had an advanced degree in sleeping, and as an expert in his field - set a standard few but the disciplined could attain. He also minored in Home Defense and Culinary Delights. Ever vigilant, he enjoyed surveying his property so long as wet grass blades did not get between his toes. And Clydii loved good food - no more needs to be said.

We miss Clydii - knucklehead that he sometimes was. We received a lot of joy by living with this special creature. We were truly blessed to have him in our lives for fifteen years. We believe he is now with his granddad, Wayne doing that which he loved best.

Muriel Clair Johnson

Muriel Clair Johnson, a resident of Olympia for the past 43 years and recently of Panorama City, was born February 2, 1922 and died February 23, 2002. Robert and Gordy Rasmusson of Astoria, S.D. adopted Muriel when she was two years old. She married Victor Johnson on October 3, 1942; their marriage spanned Victor's lifetime. Muriel was truly a dedicated and loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, and these are the memories that remain with her family and friends. Muriel was a woman with great faith in God and was an active member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd for many years. Muriel is survived by her three children, Virginia Lyon, Clyde Johnson, and Greta Sines; and her four grandchildren, Briana, Jesse, Holly, and Leah. Muriel is also survived by her sister, Katherine Slater, in Miranda, S.D. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on February 26th at Good Shepherd Lutheran, 1601 North St., Olympia. Luncheon will follow the service.
