Death Notice Submissions
Death notices run in The Olympian as news items. There is no charge for death notices, but they must comply with news style and policies. Forms are available at the newspaper’s front desk, through South Sound funeral homes, by fax or on our Web site. Death notices are composed from those forms.
Death notices must arrive by 5 p.m. for possible next-day publication. All deaths must be verified before publication.
Notices can be delivered to The Olympian at 111 Bethel St. N.E.; mailed to Death Notices, P.O. Box 1219, Olympia, WA 98507; sent by fax to (360) 357-0202; or via our customer service page, on the Internet. Direct questions to (360) 754-5420.
Obituaries
The Olympian charges a fee for full obituaries that publish in our newspaper.
In addition, The Olympian will offer families the option of accompanying obituaries with a photo of the deceased and/or a symbol from a fraternal organization or military service to create a more fitting tribute to the deceased.
