CLEVELAND, ANAHEIM OPEN SEASON TONIGHT

The Cleveland Indians and Anaheim Angels will open the major league baseball season tonight in Anaheim, Calif.

Both teams will be wearing new jerseys, and there will be a lot of new bodies in them when Cleveland's Bartolo Colon opens against Anaheim's Jarrod Washburn. The 5 p.m. game will be shown on ESPN2.

In the offseason, the Indians added pitchers Omar Olivares and Mark Wohlers, catcher Eddie Perez, second baseman Ricky Gutierrez, infielder Mike Lansing and outfielders Matt Lawton and Brady Anderson.

Anaheim added pitchers Aaron Sele, Kevin Appier, Dennis Cook and Donne Wall and designated hitter Brad Fullmer.

MAYORGA STOPS LEWIS IN WBA TITLE

Nicaragua's Ricardo Mayorga won the WBA welterweight title Saturday night, flooring champion Andrew "Six Heads" Lewis of Guyana in the fifth round.

Mayorga (24-3-1) knocked down Lewis (21-1-1) with a six-hook combo, prompting referee Rudy Battle to stop the fight at 1:08 of the fifth round at the Sovereign Center.
